KUMARAKOM: A baby born after 11 years of marriage, died falling into a watery pit. Pratheeksha, only daughter of Prabhash and Savitha of Kumarakom, died Monday evening.

Prabhash, a fisherman and Savitha, a housewife and a peasant worker were at home at the time of the incident. The child usually goes to the neighbouring two houses. When the child was found missing, they thought she would be at the neighbouring houses. They later found that the child had not gone there. In a search conducted found the baby lying in the watery pit. Though she was taken to the Community Health Centre, her life could not be saved. She will be cremated today.
