NEW DELHI: Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan said all steps will be taken to bring back the people stranded in Iran. Efforts will be made to bring back those in Italy also. He said the Kerala Government is trying to take political advantage out of it.
The first team from Iran was brought on a flight of the defence department from Iran. The samples of the remaining Indians in Iran were brought. After examining these samples, further steps will be taken. The decision of the government on it will be clarified by foreign affairs minister, he said. A decision will be taken at the cabinet meet on sending the medical team to Italy to bring back the Indians from there. If the infected and others travel together, the others may contract the disease. The government is planning to bring back the non-infected and will treat the infected there itself. A medical team from India will be sent to Italy. The non-infected would be brought back after an examination.
The central government is trying desperately to fight the virus. In the meantime, a confrontation between the centre and the state is to be viewed as a move for political gain. If the visa for expatriates expire and there is a loss of employment in the name of that, the matter will be considered then, he said.
