PATHANAMTHITTA: A nurse of the government hospital who treated a family tested positive of COVID-19 and her daughter have been admitted at the isolation ward in Pathanamthitta General Hospital. The two were admitted in the hospital after they developed fever and cough. Doctors said their condition is satisfactory.

The virus was confirmed on a native of Kannur who came from Dubai and a Thrissur native from Qatar. The two who reached the airport with the symptoms were taken straight to Kannur Pariyaram Medical College and Thrissur General Hospital. With this the number of officially confirmed cases of coronavirus in the state has reached 19.

Meantime, the samples of a native of Thiruvananthapuram who arrived from Italy when examined at the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College were tested positive. However, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan while addressing the media said that an official confirmation has to be made by the Alappuzha Virology Lab. Health Minister K K Shailaja said treatment has started to the resident of the capital city.
