THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Three have tested positive for COVID-19, making the total number of infected up to 22. All three new cases were confirmed in Thiruvananthapuram, with one being an Italy native who stayed in a resort in Varkala. Of the other two, one person is a Keralite who returned from London. The third confirmed case was that of a Vellanad native, who is a returnee from Italy.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Health Minister KK Shailaja confirmed the cases while addressing the media here.
The Italy native was under observation at a private resort in Varkala here. The person showed corona symptoms and was taken to Parippally Medical College to collect samples. As the infection was confirmed, he was taken to Varkala in an ambulance. He will be shifted to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College.
