THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, the district administration has imposed strict restrictions in the state. The district collector said many of the patients confirmed of the virus are not following the instructions.

Shopping malls and beaches will be closed. As part of precautionary measures, the district collector has asked people to stay at home and need to go out only at emergency purposes.

The collector said many are not following observation guidelines. Directions have been given to increase vigilance in Varkala. It is difficult to take the contact lists of the Italian tested positive of the virus. He is presently quarantined in Varkala. He did not follow the instructions. He was out for 15 days. The collector has instructed to stop all festivals and celebrations in the state. Beauty parlours and gymnasiums will be controlled. If you see any symptoms, should inform the health department. 249 people are under observation in the district.

Meantime, 58 in Thrissur and eight in Pathanamthitta under observation have been tested negative. 21 students who arrived here from Italy will be under observation at their homes. Others stranded in Italy will be brought at the earliest.
