THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the wake of the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), the state is on high alert. Inspection has begun in check posts. All vehicles including buses are being inspected. They are checking whether passengers in vehicles are having fever and permit them to leave only after registering the details of them. People coming from virus hit places and those travelling more have been asked to contact the health department.

In check posts in Wayanad sharing the borders of states Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, vehicles are stopped and inspected to prevent COVID 19. 36 more teams will be entrusted for it. A decision has been taken to give training to those from other departments also. 75 people are under observation in the district.

All vehicles will be checked by a team led by DySPs in 24 points from Kasargod to Thiruvananthapuram. KSRTC has made arrangements to bring students from Karnataka after educational institutions have been closed. Health department will collect the details of these students. An inspection by the health department is being held at Moolahalla near Muthanga.

Instructions have been given to the health department and the police to continue checking at the state border till the concern on corona ends. A checking will be held at airports under the leadership of SPs. A special team will conduct an inspection at the camps of migrant labourers. Arrangements will be made to ensure food and medicine for those on surveillance at homes. Those having symptoms of the diseases will be admitted at the isolation wards.
