As the State Health Department is leaving no stone unturned to contain the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, a health inspector has come up sharing a bad experience that he encountered while visiting an NRI who had recently returned from the United Kingdom. The health inspector and his team had visited the NRI's home in order to take necessary precautionary measures as there was a possibility that the NRI and his family might have got infected by the coronavirus.
When the NRI was asked to undergo medical tests for coronavirus, he opposed it by saying that he had already undergone tests for the virus in the UK. ' He even went on to ask whether the health facilities in this poor country is better than that of the UK,' the inspector said. However, the health authorities tried to persuade him by saying that the infection might not get detected in the first examination. Though the family was advised not to move out of the house, the neighbours of the family were asked to inform if the family members attempted to move out, the inspector added.
As suspected, the family did move out of their house by car and upon receiving the information from the neighbours, the health inspector called the NRI's father and asked the family to return back. However, the family ignored the instruction which left the health inspector with no option other than to warn the family that their details including car registration number will be issued to the public. Following this, the family returned to their house. An investigation conducted by a special branch of police found out that the family had travelled to Adoor by car and did not stop anywhere in between.
Meanwhile, the health inspector also revealed that he had received calls from certain people who introduced themselves as police officer and Plus Two teacher while asking him to leave the NRI alone.
