THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thirty centres in Kerala including Cliff House, Rajbhavan, Secretariat and Guruvayur have been declared high security zones. Restrictions have been imposed in these places according to 83(2) section of the Police Act.
With this, strikes and protests in front of Secretariat will come to cease. Demonstrations will also be banned around the Assembly house. People won’t be allowed to carry guns or weapons in security region. Fireworks, will also be banned. There will be restrictions for drones, loudspeakers, parking, speed limits, protests, and demonstrations as well.
The security zones have been identified by Industrial security wing of Central Intelligence bureau. Rajbhavan, Vizhinjam harbour, Technopark, Police headquarters, Thiruvananthapuram airport, VSSC, Akkulam South Command, Thiruvananthapuram/Kochi Reserve bank, Valiyamala ISRP, Kayamkulam NROC, Idukki Mullaperiyar dams, Nedumbassery airport, Puthivaype LNG terminal, Kochi refinery, shipyard, port, Kochi BPCL, high court, Vallarpadam terminal and Karipur airport are other declared security zones.
