THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As six new cases of novel coronavirus were confirmed in Kasargod district on Friday, the state government has come up with severe restrictions in the district.
According to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, the person who tested positive for coronavirus had ignored government instructions, travelled to various parts of the district and attended several functions. "Upon reaching the Karipur airport, the person went on to stay in Karipur that night. He had later travelled to Kozhikode and from there reached Kasargod. He had attended several programs like a marriage function, a football match and an event at a club," Vijayan said. He added that the person had even come in contact with two MLAs in the district.

He also added that religious institutions and clubs in the district will be closed for a period of two weeks. Shops will remain open from 11 am to 5 pm only, he added.
