KOLLAM: The details of the investigation related to the mobile tower in connection with the drowning of Devanandha under mysterious circumstances will be obtained tomorrow. The full details of those who used mobile phones in the area on that day would be obtained and this would be beneficial for the case, the investigating officials said. The officials hope to get a clue of the accused after assessing the details obtained with the help of the cyber cell. All phone messages will be examined from the time the child went missing until the body was found.
The investigating team had spoken to the child’s parents yesterday. The officials spoke to Dhanya, the child’s mother for over an hour. They spoke to them based on the doubts of the police, parents’ doubts and the details obtained during interrogation. They have been summoned to the police station again to register their statements. The police had earlier recorded Dhanya’s statements twice.
The child’s parents insisted yesterday that the child would never go to the river alone. So far, 61 people were interrogated as part of the probe. Although forensic and autopsy reports have confirmed the death as accidental drowning, it is unclear whether she fell into the river or was pushed by some external forces. She went missing on February 27 and on the next day, her body was found on the Ithikkara River. The investigation team is still unable to come to a conclusion.
