KASARGOD: Five persons have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Kasargod on Sunday. All five have been identified as men who had recently returned from Dubai. Following this, the health department has asked the public to be on high alert.
It must be noted that 19 people are undergoing treatment for coronavirus in the district. According to District Medical Officer Dr AV Ramdas, people of Kasargod must be on high alert and should follow the instructions from the health department as there have been daily reports of coronavirus infection in the district.
At present, 762 people are undergoing observation in the district. 41 persons have been admitted to isolation wards at various hospitals. Isolation wards have been set up at various hospitals including the Carewell hospital, Nullipady and General Hospital. Those who have recently returned from foreign countries and those who have interacted closely with them have been asked to undergo strict home quarantine. The health officials have also urged the people to refrain from gathering together at public places and avoid attending functions.
