THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Health Minister K K Shailaja has said that 276 doctors will be appointed through PSC immediately as part of strengthening the measures for the prevention of Corona infection.

The doctors appointed are the ones chosen from the PSC rank list. All have been given the advice memo. They will be appointed after online counselling in a single day. Paramedical professionals will also be appointed on urgent basis, according to K K Shailaja.

The minister said that the health department is making preparation on a war-footing to fight the disease as the number of positive cases are increasing in the State.

“Those under observation for disease symptoms or other diseases can be treated only at Isolation rooms. Foreseeing this, the health department had created plans such as Plan A, Plan B and Plan C. Altogether about 6000 isolation beds had been arranged under these plan. Besides this, the department has also identified Corona care centers for accommodating 21,866 persons at a time.

According to each plan, doctors, nurses, other staffs, medicines, protective gears, ventilators will have to be increased in a big way. The new doctors will also be appointed according to these plans, said the minister.
