IDUKKI: Two people, including a three-year-old, were charred to death on Tuesday after a group of Tamil labourers were caught in wildfire near Rasingapuram in Theni. The deceased have been identified as Vijayamani (45) and Keerthika.
The accident occurred when the group was returning to their native village through a forest route after the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border was closed due to coronavirus outbreak. The group was returning after work at a private estate in Pethati. Sources said that both Vijayamani and Keerthika, who suffered serious burns, died on the spot. Meanwhile, other members of the group were taken to the Theni Medical College.
