ALAPPUZHA: Natives of Cherthala who were on quarantine in Thrissur on suspicion of COVID-19 have jumped from there. The two missing have been identified as Anand Joseph of Cherthala Vellappatil and Elsamma Joseph.

The two who came from Dubai on March 9 was under observation in a firm at Meloor from March 16 onwards. The two fled before completing the observation period. Meloor panchayat secretary informed the matter to Cherthala municipality secretary. Following that, the Cherthala municipality lodged a complaint to the police. The police conducted a search but could not find them. It is doubtful that the address given by them in Thrissur was wrong. The address has been given to all municipal councillors to find the two. The police is also conducting a probe.
