THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala government has reached a consensus with the Tamil Nadu government over the transportation of essential commodities including vegetables to the state. Tamil Nadu had earlier shut its borders in the wake of a spike in the number of corona positive cases. Minister K Krishankutty presided the talks between the deputy secretaries, health officials and the police officers of both states.

Vehicles from Kerala crossing the TN border to carry back essential commodities will be disinfected. This process will be again carried out in Kerala once the vehicles return. Such vehicles crossing borders will be checked at seven check posts by a team comprising of lawmakers and tahsildars.
