KOTTAYAM: In the wake of the spread of coronavirus, prohibitory orders have been clamped in the district. According to CRPC 144, the ban came into force in the district from this morning. There is a ban of more than four people gathering in the place. Essential services have been exempted from the ban announced by the government.
The prohibitory orders were clamped based on the report of Kottayam district police chief and Kottayam Pala sub divisional magistrates. District collector informed that district police chief has been entrusted to implement the order and to take strict action against those violating the instructions. He also requested everyone to cooperate with the restrictions imposed on the safety of the society.
The prohibitory orders were announced following the protests staged by the migrant labourers at Payippad in Changanassery yesterday.
