THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The health department and his relatives are confused as to how Abdul Azeez, who died of coronavirus, got infected. He had sought treatment at Vengode primary health centre on March 18 after developing symptoms of the disease. The doctors gave him medicine for five days and advised him to take rest. He later went to Sree Gokulam Medical College, Venjaramoodu, on March 23 as he developed uneasiness. In the tests conducted there, he was suspected of the virus and was soon taken to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital.

One of the three daughters of Azeez is a KSRTC conductor. She stays with him. He drops her for work and picks her up after duty. She was on duty on March 17 and 19.

Azeez was engaged in tapioca cultivations and many had bought the item from him. Azeez actively participated in all functions held at his hometown. It is difficult to find who all have come in contact with him. His wife is an active member of Kudumbasree.

On March 2, he had attended a marriage function. He had also attended four funeral functions. He had gone to the mosque daily till March 20. All staffs of the bank he visited have been advised to go under isolation. The disease has not been confirmed on any he came in contact with.
