KASARGOD: The Karnataka Government will file a plea in the Supreme Court against the high court verdict to open the border and facilitate movement of vehicles carrying the sick for urgent medical treatment. The Karnataka Government changed their stand again soon after announcing to open the border with conditions. They even appointed a doctor to examine the sick at Thalappady and asked to ensure that vehicles are permitted to leave after strict inspection.
The government directed cops on duty at the border not to permit any movement of vehicles till the court verdict comes. The new directive is that even ambulances should not be permitted to move. Meantime, Kerala is budging pressure on Karnataka to execute the high court verdict.
It is heard that Karnataka is likely to file an affidavit on the plea filed by Kasargod MP Rajmohan Unnithan. Karnataka has refused to open the border despite high court's request. The Kerala high court had directed opening of border roads and facilitate movement of vehicles carrying the sick. However, a solution has not been found so far.
