THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Those 53 persons who were expecting liquor to be delivered on the basis of doctors’ prescription would not have got it even if the court had not stayed the government order for delivering liquor on doctors’ prescription.
Bevco MD S Spurgeon on Thursday gave instructions in this regard as the Centre had intervened to discourage the move. This instruction was given hours before the high court stayed the government order.
Earlier, the decision was to deliver liquor at homes payment which included an additional service charge of Rs 100.
The MD had also issued guidelines for the supply. The government decision was to deliver liquor to 53 persons who had applied for liquor bottles along with doctors’ prescription.
