KOCHI: Forty one persons including women who violated lockdown prohibitions and got out of their house for morning walk were arrested on Saturday. The incident happened at Panampilly Nagar in Kochi.
They have been arrested according to Kerala Epidemics Diseases Ordinance. As per the new Ordinance, the offenders may have to pay a penalty of Rs 10,000 and two years’ imprisonment.
The violation came to the notice of the police when the police did an aerial survey of that area using drones. Panampilly Nagar is the place where people usually go for morning walks. The authorities had warned against walks following the declaration of the lockdown.
