NEW DELHI: Seven Malayali nurses including a pregnant woman working at the Delhi State Cancer Institute have tested positive for coronavirus. As of now, a total of 10 staff members working at the hospital have tested positive for the virus.
Apart from the Malayali nurses, one nurse hailing from Tamil Nadu has also contracted the disease. It was a resident doctor who had first tested positive for coronavirus. Following this, the nurses were tested after they came in contact with the doctor. It is learnt around 38 cancer patients are currently undergoing treatment in the hospital.
Meanwhile, the United Nurses Association have alleged that the hospital had not been following the guidelines and screening procedures provided by the government. The association also added that the nurses are not getting proper treatment or facilities in the hospital. The association has also pointed out the violations committed by the hospital authorities and has written to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Uttar Pradesh Cheif Minister Yogi Adityanath.
