lockdown

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 17-member expert committee appointed by the state government has submitted its report regarding the restrictions that must be implemented in the state after the lockdown is lifted. Stating that the condition in the state is very much under control, the committee has recommended for a phase-wise removal of the lockdown.

The report has been handed over to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Though the nationwide lockdown is likely to come to an end by April 14, Kerala must opt for a phase-wise removal of the lockdown as certain regions like Kasargod are still showing a steady increase in the number of coronavirus cases, the report says.

The committee also advises against the opening up of places where people are likely to gather. It also recommended imposing restrictions at public places in order to avoid gathering in groups.
