NEW YORK: The number of people affected by COVID-19 has risen to 1,430,516 globally. Official reports say so far 82,019 people have died of the virus. 301,828 people have been cured of the disease. 1,046,669 are undergoing treatment. 4800 people have lost their lives worldwide in 24 hours.
In the meantime, four more Keralites have died in the USA. Lalu Prathap Jose (64) of Thekkemala at Kozhencherry in Pathanamthitta died in Philadelphia, Mariamma Mathew (80) of Karikunnam in Thodupuzha died in Hyde Park, New York, Tennison Payyur (82) hailing from Thrissur died in Rockland County, New York and Paul (21), son of Retd Lt. Commander Sabu N John of Kodencherry in Kozhikode, died in Texas. With this, 24 Keralites have died outside Kerala.
Meantime, 1417 people died in France yesterday bringing the total deaths to 10,328. More than 10,000 deaths have been reported in Italy, Spain and US earlier. 1970 people died in the US in last 24 hours. 731 people died in New York alone. The total deaths in US rose to 12,841. 33,331 people have been diagnosed with the disease in 24 hours. With this, the total number of patients infected of the disease in US has crossed four lakh.
