NEW DELHI: The struggle of nine Malayali nurses in Delhi State Cancer Institute, who were denied medical care, food, and accommodation in Delhi, came to an end. This group of nurses, including a pregnant nurse, had tested positive for coronavirus. They have started getting food and treatment. Their families will also be tested for COVID-19.
Keralakaumudi on Wednesday reported the struggles of nine Malayali nurses in Delhi who tested positive for COVID-19. CM Pinarayi Vijayan wrote to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal seeking immediate action. Former Kerala CM Oommen Chandy talked with Delhi deputy CM Manish Sisodia over the phone. Many lawmakers and leaders intervened in the matter.
United Nurses Association Delhi President Rins Joseph said measures have been taken to isolate the nurses, provide them with food and treatment.
