KOLLAM: Now, it has become clear that the person who abandoned a baby near Snehatheeram at Kunnikodu Vilakkudi in Kollam was a man. This became evident from the visuals obtained from a nearby CCTV.

The child was carefully wrapped up in clothes and was left in the sit-out of a house near Snehatheeram.

Police said that the man had waited there for some time to ensure that street dogs from nearby areas didn’t take away the baby.

The members in the house were woken up by the cries of the child. They soon informed Snehatheeram director Sister Roselin and Kunnikode police.

The five-day-old child is currently in Punalur Taluk hospital. After getting the orders from the Child Welfare Committee, the child will be handed over to Sneehatheeram.

Meanwhile, Sr Roselin described the child as the angel baby that arrived on Maundy Thursday.
