THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday sought the Union government's help to bring back the NRIs who are stranded in various foreign countries due to the coronavirus crisis. He added that the government must immediately issue orders regarding this to the embassies.
According to the Chief Minister, special attention must be given to those NRIs who are staying in labour camps in various foreign countries. Those who have gone to foreign countries using visiting visas must also be brought back. He added that special flights must be arranged to bring back the NRIs.
The Chief Minister also pointed out that the state government will provide emergency aid to all the patients who have membership in the NRI Welfare Board. Meanwhile, 10 persons have tested positive for coronavirus in the state on Saturday. Out of these 10, 7 are from Kannur,2 are from Kasargod and one is from Kozhikode.
