THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak, Kerala has told the PM that the time hasn't arrived to go back to normalcy, CM Vijayan said. The PM was told of Kerala's suggestions during a video conference between him and the chief ministers of states.
If the people set out of the house to travel uncontrollably, there is a possibility for community transmission. In a place like Kerala where the density of the population is high, the situation could get serious. Restrictions at places identified as hotspots should continue till April 30, the CM told PM Modi.
At other places, social distancing should be ensured while giving permission to do things under state guidelines. Each state should have the power to implement this. The PM was also briefed on Kerala's demands during the conference.
CM Pinarayi Vijayan said the state would follow centre's guidelines. The PM has told that the next three weeks are crucial, CM added.
