THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that three persons have tested positive for coronavirus in Kerala on Monday. Out of the three, two persons are from Kannur and one is from Palakkad.

Among the three persons, one person had recently returned from a foreign country while the other two persons contracted the disease through contact, the CM said.


The Cheif Minister also added that 19 infected persons have tested negative on Monday. Among these, 12 are from Kasargod, 3 each from Pathanamthitta and Thrissur and one from Kannur.

At present, 178 people are undergoing treatment for coronavirus at various hospitals in the state. While 1.11.468 persons are under house quarantine, 715 are kept under observation in hospitals. 86 persons have been newly admitted to hospitals.


Urging the public to follow the lockdown restrictions, Vijayan added that the trend of a dip in the number of positive cases and increase in the number of cured cases does not mean that restrictions will be lifted soon.

Extending Vishu and Ambedkar Jayanti greetings,the Chief Minister also took the opportunity to request the public to donate this year's 'Vishukkaineettam' to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund.
