THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday said that he has sent a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking the centre's help in flying back Indians who are stranded in other countries due to coronavirus crisis.


Speaking to the media after the COVID 19 evaluation meeting, the chief minister said that it has been clearly mentioned in the letter that the state is ready to take up the responsibility of testing all the expats returning to the state and placing them in quarantine. "The situation of the expats is deeply disturbing. The issue has been brought to the notice of the Prime Minister through a letter. Many of the expats are facing crisis as they don't have any income due to the prevailing situation. The government is ready to provide every facility once they are brought back to India," he said.
