THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Health Mininster K K Shailaja has said that the reduction in the number of new cases in Kerala doesn’t mean that the virus has been completely eradicated from the State.
“If any patient has evaded the eyes of health department, there is a chance for transmission of the disease from that person.
Those in the control room and people had to avoid Vishu celebration this time. All should obey the instructions of the health department.
We can unitedly prevent this big danger. In Kerala, there is some relief in seven districts,” she said.
The minister said that the disease was confirmed in people who came from Gulf and Pathanamthitta at a time when there was letup in Covid cases there.
“The special fear factor at Pothencode has been removed. The incubation period there is over,” she said.
Referring to the case of a pregnant woman who was not able to enter Kerala, K K Shailaja said that it was an extraordinary case. “Though we have to obey Central instruction to stay indoors, we can’t keep a pregnant woman held up on the way. We have to bring her to her house. Therefore, the chief minister has taken up the case with the Centre. Those who are with her will be asked to stay back and kept under observation,” she explained.
