THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Major relief as Kerala reported only one COVID-19 positive case on Wednesday, CM Vijayan told the media here. The positive case is a Kannur native who contracted the disease through contact. Test results of seven have returned negative for the virus.
The CM further said that the persons under observation in the state have also come down drastically-below one lakh. There are 97,464 persons under observation-96,942 at homes and 522 at hospitals.
He said the state is expecting financial aid from the centre soon. CM added that Kerala has the highest rate of recovery from COVID-19.
A cabinet meeting tomorrow will decide how restrictions should be relaxed.
Though the number of patients has come down, a high alert should be maintained. The government will take measures to transport medicines abroad. The state will approach the Delhi government to end the problems of Malayali nurses.
CM Vijayan said that the state carriage tax date of private buses has bee extended. Learner's license validity will also be extended.
Quarantine centers for expatriates have been started in Dubai, CM added.
