KOLLAM: A Malayali expat committed suicide in Dubai by jumping from the top of a building. Though he was under observation for Covid, the exact reason for the suicide is not yet known. His body fluid has been sent for testing. The result will be available only on Saturday.

He was a native of Kollam and has been identified as Ashokan, son of Purushothaman of Kalamadanayath House at Prakkulam. His relatives got the information about his death on Friday afternoon.

He was to return to Kerala in March but had to postpone it due the lockdown. He was working as a foreman in a Dubai company. The relatives hope to bring back his body to Kerala if his body sample tests negative for Covid.

. He is survived by wife and two children.
