lockdown

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Speaking to the media here about the second phase of lockdown restrictions, state DGP Loknath Behera said that travel between districts will not be allowed even after relaxation is granted in lockdown restrictions. He said public should maintain self-control and refrain from wandering outside unnecessarily.

Only emergency travel from one district to another district will be allowed. Travels within their respective district will be allowed. We hope to reduce the number of vehicles on the road by 40 percent with the implementation of the odd-even system. Maximum three persons can travel in a car for emergency purposes,” the DGP said.

A self-declaration note revealing the purpose of the journey would be better. It would not be mandatory. But, it will be mandatory for inter-state trips. Those going to offices must carry their office ID, the DGP said.

All offices won't be allowed to function completely. Except for essential services, permission will be granted to offices to function with minimum staff,” informed the state police chief.
