NEW YORK: Coronavirus deaths have surged past 160,000 worldwide and infected cases passed 23, 29,000. The death toll in the United States, with the largest number of patients, is more than 39,000. More than 1800 have died in the US in the last 24 hours. When 637 lost their lives in Spain, 642 died in France, 482 in Italy and 888 in Britain.

A church which functioned as a mortuary in Italy had been closed. Children in Spain can go out from next week onwards. COVID-19 deaths in Europe are nearing 1,00,000. The virus is spreading seriously in Britain. Death toll has climbed to 15,000. COVID spread in Poland remains serious and about twenty people die every day here.

The number of confirmed cases in the United States is nearing 7,40,000. Governor Andrew Cuomo said the situation is improving in New York where the crisis had been raging. Metro trains, which are the lifeline of New York City, have been an essential service during COVID times. More than 2000 Metro employees have been confirmed of the virus.
