THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Law Minister A K Balan has come forward justifying the Sprinklr deal. The dealing related to Sprinklr need not be shown to the legal department. The IT department alone has to decide on the deal, he said. The IT department has ensured complete security of the data. If there is any legal issue, it should be shown to the legal department. The legal department need not know about all departments in the state, he said.

Balan alleged that the opposition is trying to insult the chief minister and is making a false propaganda. It was in good faith the government entered into a deal with Sprinklr. The chief minister who briefs at 6 pm obtained the data after the deal was done. Files associated with a department may not be viewed by the minister of that department. There is no need to discuss the deal in the cabinet.

IT secretary will be responsible if any problem arises in the deal tomorrow. A lot of deals have been signed in the state without the cabinet and ministers seeing it. The officials who signed it are responsible for all the deals. The Lavlin case was probed and rejected during the tenure of Oommen Chandy Government. It is not that easy to tarnish the image of Pinarayi, he said.
