THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: 88 hotspots in Kerala will not have any relaxation in restrictions till the lockdown ends on May 3, Chief Secretary Tom Jose on Sunday. While stating that strict restrictions will be in place in the hotspots, the chief secretary added that the health department will soon release the details regarding these hotspots. Those hotspots within the orange and green zones will also experience strict restrictions in the upcoming days.

While the districts that come under the orange B zone will have relaxation in restrictions from April 20, those districts coming under orange A zone will start experiencing relaxation from April 24. On the other hand, restrictions in the districts that come under the red zone will be tightened. The chief secretary further added that an order regarding this has been issued as per the guidelines provided by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Those people requiring emergency medical attention will be permitted to travel to other districts. Doctors, nurses, other health officials and government officials will also be allowed to travel to other districts. Such people can use private vehicles and have been advised to carry identity cards with them. Strict action will be taken against those people who misuse these relaxations.

All the government officials belonging to the class 1 and class 2 categories will have to report for duty from Monday onwards. 33% of the employees belonging to other classes will also have to rejoin duty on Monday. Only those stores that functioned under the lockdown restrictions will be allowed to function under the relaxation period.
