NEW YORK: The death toll from COVID-19 rose to 165,000 worldwide and infected cases crossed 24 lakh. Over 40,000 people have lost their lives in the US alone. Half of the deaths were reported in New York. More than 700,000 have been confirmed of the virus in US.

Governor Andrew Cuomo said the situation is improving in New York. Metro trains are running in New York amidst corona fear. Over 2000 metro employees have tested positive of the virus. Relaxations are being implemented under the leadership of governors in various states.

Meantime, there is a slight decrease in the number of new COVID cases and deaths in European countries. So far over 11 lakh people have been infected with the virus in Europe alone. Death toll has crossed one lakh. In Italy, the worst hit has reported 23,600 deaths. 20,453 people died of the virus in Spain and 19,744 in France.
