THIRUVANNATHAPURAM: On Monday, it looked as if the normal life was returning to normal as people and vehicles started coming on to the roads after the State government gave relaxations to seven districts expect those classified as Red Zones and Hot spots.
With exceptions to certain hot spot areas, relaxation was allowed in Green zones such as Idukki, Kottayam and Orange B Zones such as Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha, Palakkad, Wayanad and Thrissur.
From Monday morning, the roads in the State witnessed light traffic congestion with people hitting the roads with their vehicles, making use of odd-even number scheme option.
Meanwhile, the Centre on Monday, sough the explanation from the State on additional relaxations given by the State which included permission to open hotels, barber shops, workshops and allowing pillion riders on two-wheelers.
The DGP’s order on Sunday had created confusion over this and people had started cleaning and washing their shops so that they could start functioning from Tuesday.
