THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government corrected lockdown relaxations in the state following a directive from the centre. The government corrected the order in the opening of barber shops and hotels. Kerala also modified the order on two people riding in a bike. A decision was taken to make changes in the relaxation following centre’s directive. The decision was taken after the review meeting chaired by the chief minister.
Union home secretary had sought an explanation from Kerala. The changes were made after that. Barber shops will not be opened and instead he can go homes and cut hair. When the order to eat in hotels was withdrawn, the time to supply food online has been extended till 9 pm.
Meantime, Chief Secretary Tom Jose said permission to open workshops will be sought from the centre. Earlier when relaxations were eased, permission was given to open workshops.
The centre came down heavily on the Kerala government for its decision to allow opening of restaurants, bus travel in cities and opening of MSME industries in urban areas, saying it amounts to dilution of lockdown guidelines and also a Supreme Court observation.
However, the Pinarayi Vijayan-led Left government said there was some misunderstanding, due to which the Centre had objected to dilution of the lockdown protocol for controlling coronavirus.
