THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: DGP Lokanath Behera has said lockdown relaxations were allowed only to do certain jobs. “Employment sectors that have been allowed restrictions should also show restraint. Nobody should come out for anything other than specified jobs. The people going out should also carry a written declaration.

General checking will continue strictly. Unnecessary travelling or gathering of people will not be allowed,” he said.

Clarifying that relaxations will be in effect only from April 21, he said vehicles that would be allowed on roads on that day will be those with registration number ending with 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9.

“Vehicles ending with even numbers can hit roads on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. However, this stipulation will not be applicable to women and employees in establishments that have permission to work.

Inter-district travel will be allowed only for medical emergencies and for essential services,” he added.
