NEW DELHI: The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country have touched 18,601 as per reports of Union Health Ministry. As many as 590 deaths have been reported till now. 3252 cured of the disease have been discharged from hospitals.
The level of the spread of the virus in 18 states have been declined, according to the Ministry of Health. According to ICMR, two-thirds of COVID cases in ten states have no symptoms. According to the ministry, the lockdown restrictions have begun to take effect, and if the number of cases doubled in the first three days, the country's average is now seven and a half days.
Goa is free of COVID-19 now. No new cases have been reported in the last 28 days in Mahi and Kudagu and in Pauri Garhwal in Uttarakhand. The number of districts that have not reported a single case for the past 14 days has been increased from 54 to 59. The Ministry of Health has repeatedly stated that the only medicine for COVID is social distancing.
Maharashtra continues to be the worst-hit state in the country with 4,666 cases. 2081 people in Delhi, 1851in Gujarat, 1485 in Madhya Pradesh, 1576 in Rajasthan, 1477 in Tamil Nadu and 1184 in Uttar Pradesh have been confirmed of the virus. 552 in Maharashtra and 247 in Gujarat were confirmed of the virus yesterday. The number of patients have doubled in Gujarat in three days.
