NEW YORK: Things are getting worse day by day amid corona fears. The global death toll for coronavirus reached 177,000 with 25,69,246 confirmed cases. 44,845 people have died in US alone. Though there is a slight decrease in the spread of the virus in New York, the number of new hot spots in Massachusetts has doubled in a week. 1700 deaths have been reported. Governor Andrew Cuomo said even though there is a fall in the spread of the virus in New York, it doesn’t mean that it’s time to lift the restrictions.

Infected cases rose to 2.04 lakh in Spain. A drop has been seen in the number of patients in Italy. 1,83,957 were confirmed of the virus. Nearly 25,000 people have died in Italy. In France 1.55 lakh people were confirmed of the virus, in Germany 1.47 lakh, in Britain 1.25 lakh, 90,000 in Turkey and 85,000 in Iran.

Meantime, the virus could push more people into poverty, warned the UN. The number of people suffering from severe food insecurity could rise to 265 million, according to a new report by the UN World Food Program.
