PATHANAMTHITTA: The test results of the 62-year-old woman, native of Pathanamthitta, who was undergoing treatment for COVID-19 for the past 42 days turned negative. The test results turned negative in the first examination after giving a new medicine. A new medicine Ivermectin was given to her from April 14 onwards.

It is only when the results of two consecutive tests turn negative the department of health arrives at the conclusion that the patient has been cured of the disease. The results turned negative in the second test after giving the new medicine. The next sample test will be conducted in the coming days. If that result turns negative we can say that the woman has been cured of the disease.

It has been assessed that the present result is a temporary relief. She was given Ivermectin when she tested positive continuously. This medicine is usually prescribed for fungal infection. She contracted the disease after coming into contact with a family who came from Italy.
