THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Ministers including the chief minister are now getting a monthly salary of Rs 92,423. As the government has announced a salary cut of 30% of this, there will be a deduction of Rs 27, 726.

The ministers have already donated Rs One lakh each to the chief minister’s relief fund. The above deduction is apart from this.

MLA’s monthly salary is Rs 50,000 besides travel allowance. During the floods, the MLAs had donated that amount to the relief fund. 30% of that means Rs 15,000, the amount that will be deducted from the salary.

In several other states also, a portion of government employees salary are being put aside for two to three months. From the Central government employees also, a day’s salary is being cut for twelve months.
