THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday said that 10 more persons have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Kerala. Out of these, four are from Idukki, two each are from Kottayam and Kozhikode, and one each are from Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam.

Among the 10 persons who tested positive on Thursday, four persons had recently returned from other states while two had returned from abroad. The other four persons contracted the disease through contact.

Meanwhile, eight infected persons tested negative for the virus on Thursday, the chief minister added. At present, 129 persons are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the state.

While 23,439 persons are kept under observation at houses, 437 persons are admitted to hospitals. As many as 21,334 samples have been sent for testing out of which 20,326 have returned negative.

The Chief Minister added that Kasargod, Kannur, Kozhikode and Malappuram districts will remain as red zones. All other districts will come under the orange zone. Both Idukki and Kottayam districts, that were earlier listed as green zones, have also become orange zones after the two districts reported positive cases on Thursday.
