THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Food and Civil Supplies Minister P Thilothaman has said the controversy regarding storing of free food kits in party offices will be probed.

Whatever be the circumstances, storing food kits in party offices is something that is not acceptable. The instruction was given to stock the kits in schools or auditoriums if there was no space in ration shops. It has to be probed how the kits reached party offices.

On Thursday, spotting of free food kits in CPM-CPI party offices in Vaikom and Changanassery had become controversial. The kits were stored in CPI local committee office in Vaikom and CPM office in Changanassery Madappally.

The kits were later removed from these offices as certain locals and political parties came out in protest.
