THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 13 new coronavirus positive cases on Monday. Out of the 13 new cases, six are in Kottayam, four in Idukki, and one each in Palakkad, Malappuram, and Kannur. Five of them came from Tamil Nadu and one from abroad. The source of one patient is unclear and is being identified. The rest of the patients developed the disease through contact. As of Monday, 481 persons were confirmed COVID-19 positive in the state, with 123 patients still under treatment.
CM Pinarayi Vijayan told the media here that Kottayam and Idukki have been declared as red zones.
13 persons tested negative for COVID-19 on Monday-six in Kannur, four in Kozhikode and one each in Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, and Malappuram.
There 19,812 persons under observation in the state with 489 at hospitals. On Monday alone, 104 persons were admitted to hospitals. 23,271 samples were sent to labs for testing, out of which 22,537 returned negative.
