NEW DELHI: Recent report suggests that several members of the Tablighi Jamaat who have recovered from COVID-19 have come forward to donate their plasma to help those who are severely affected by the virus. According to the report, the members were encouraged by Tablighi Jamaat chief Maulana Saad's request to cooperate with health officials and donate plasma.

It must be noted that the Delhi police had registered an FIR against Maulana Saad and others under the Epidemic Disease Act 1897in connection with the religious congregation held at Markaz Tablighi Jamaat in Nizamuddin in Delhi. Earlier, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had appealed to people who have recovered from the disease to come forward and donate plasma for serious patients. However, very few had responded to the chief minister's appeal.

Meanwhile, another report claims that one COVID-19 patient in Delhi has recovered through plasma therapy.
