KOCHI: Various service associations in the state on Monday approached the High Court against the Kerala government's move to cut six days' salary payment of government employees for five months. The parties that have moved the High Court include associations of aided school teachers, KSEB and KSRTC staff.

According to the associations, the state government's move is illegal. They added that the order released by the government has not stated when the payment will be refunded to the employees. It must be noted that the order states that payment of six days will be kept aside from the salary of government staff from April to August and will be refunded later.

The associations also pointed out that the government's move to cut the payments without the permission of its employees is illegal.
