UDAYANAPURAM: In a tragic incident, an elderly man died while he was on his way to attend the marriage of his daughter. The deceased has been identified as Parameshwaran Moothathu.(62), a native of Udayanapuram in Kozhikode.

Parameshwaran, his daughter Karthika and son Kannan were on their way to the groom's house in their car when Parameshwaran suddenly felt uneasy and collapsed. Though he was immediately rushed to the hospital, he was soon pronounced dead.

As per the community traditions, the marriage was supposed to be held at the groom's house in Orkkatteri. As the lockdown restrictions were in place, the family had started their journey after obtaining permission from the police.
